Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) Fantastic Belgian RIO chamber music, once again from Guy Segers' vast vault of rarities, thanks to the fact that it was published on the "Carbon 7" label founded by Guy Segers and Alan Ward. This one-off album features a selection of excellent musicians from Belgium's avantgarde scene, performing a couple of short pieces for chamber orchestra written by Jan Kuijken between 1989 and 1993 (except for "Rex Regina...", which was contributed by Jean-Luc Plouvier and George Alexander Van Dam). The music was recorded live in the studio without overdubs. Found in "M.Foujita's" collection - thank you for unveiling it! bandcamp.com/mamiah108 Favorite track: Métamorphose 2 - (Louise Avenue).

about

Jan Kuijken, the leader of this "chamber orchestra" has five musicians with him who are not only excellent players but intensive improvers.
The band is a reference in itself, with all Belgium’s best progressive musicians.
The experience of these musicians is such that all musical acrobatics are possible; either as improvised solos or in the execution of the rigorous compositions.
Despite the absence of percussion and the fact that everything is played with acoustic instruments; the overriding feeling that comes out of the music is one of cohesive energy.
Like a "Rock" band who didn’t bother to look for a plug.
