THE OBSERVER
No open windows
No sky to see
In my blind eyes
In my memory
Turn out the lights
And stop the fight
No fear, no sweat
Experience came in my head
Warm skin
Touched within
Internal world
Inner flames burn
Invisible existence
Of life persistence
Nothing soft, nothing wild
Nothing in front, nothing behind
I am the central observer
And I am riding on the line of time
Franck BALESTRACCI’ s second album confirms his personal approach of music.
Complex structures in a simplified jewel case, accessible and an invitation to a voyage.
Here, the voyage, thru this unique style, takes power.
The recording develops contrasts at different levels, where each new level is announced by a short transition piece that brings the listener to a new horizon.
With this new record, Franck BALESTRACCI pursue his investigations, always in the spirit of translating with sounds, the today’s world.
His music isn’t meant to separate us from reality, it just modify it.
By this way, reality appears to us has successive waves of images, a picture made of sounds that never stop to modified itself, where reality places itself in a constant movement of changements.
No doubt that Franck BALESTRACCI’ s music has reached another register, and grow since his first album.
The contribution of guest musicians to enrich the scope with additional instruments, is at the same time quite subtle for not to disturb the order of things, but nevertheless gives a new color, even a new direction to the music.
The guests themselves aren’t there by coincidence. In deed, it is Marianne DENOÏA, Réginald TRIGAUX and Guy SEGERS all three issued from the bands UNIVERS ZERO and PRESENT.
They are not simple rendering musicians, but thru their past experiences, bring here a specific approach, a well recognizable signature.
This makes this album a true and personal piece, with a writing that got an innovative view.
Contrasts are developed, by stages, separated with short pieces who announce some new horizons.

A visceral LP centered on the subject of death; deft layers of instrumentation that blurs the line between organic and electronic. Bandcamp New & Notable Jun 5, 2018
The great Nils Frahm returns with another record of spare, beautiful compositions that are both gentle and enveloping. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 28, 2018
