Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) It's always worthwhile to flip through Guy Segers' mega-archive of treasures and rarities all over again, because I always find another goodie I've missed out on before. Such is the case with this 8-minute piece written by the master himself, featuring fancy woodwind arrangements in best RIO tradition. A must-have for genre fans!

about

A BEAST TROPHY - 8'17"
Composition (14/03/1989) : Guy SEGERS
Arrangement (17/03/2017) : Guy SEGERS

From the album "Again Alors ?"
discusmusic.bandcamp.com/album/again-alors-130cd-2022

The title of this composition is inspired by “Epistrophy”, a Thelonius Monk piece, and made for The MORTON FORK GANG.
Here is the latest and complete version.
The bass line is intentionally made with a construction reminding Hugh HOPPER bass lines. I was also convinced that Pip PYLE would be the perfect drummer to play this, but instead of having the joy to make it real, the dream vanished with Pip's death.
